A sea breeze is a typical wind pattern in a coastal area produced by differential heating of land and water.
Explanation:
As the sun shines on a coastal area, the land tends to warm up faster than the water. Think of being on the beach - as the sand gets hot, you can go stand in the nice cool water. Because the land is hotter, it tends to warm the air above it, which rises, and pulls air in from over the water. The result is, during the daytime, the breeze is usually blowing onto land from the water.
At night, the ground cools, and the water may be warmer, reversing the direction of the air movement and making the breeze blow from land out to the water.
