What impact does a rigid chain of command have on organizational culture?

Question:

What impact does a rigid chain of command have on organizational culture?

Answers

Chain of command can be understood as a hierarchy of persons to whom one most report. If an organisation works on rigid chain of commands culture, i.e there is no flexibility in the reporting responsibilities. This prevents the smooth functioning of organisation and hampers the work flow structure. The rigid command structure will also stop the complete work if there is absence of an individual. Therefore, this culture of rigidity in commands is not suggestible.
