Question:

Late-work policy (a 1% reduction in the score is applied to every DAY late) Question 1 Medication order: Morphine sulfate 7

"Late-work" policy (a 1% reduction in the score is applied to every DAY late) Question 1 Medication order: Morphine sulfate 7 mg IV now Drug available: Morphine sulfate 10 mg/ml How many mL will you give? Please round to the nearest tenth

Answers

ANSWER.

* Calculation of volume(ml) of drug required.

      Formula

          Volume(ml) = Desired dose/Dose in hand * Quantity.

   Here

        Desired dose (D) = 7 mg.

        Dose in hand (H) = 10 mg.

            Quantity (Q) = 1 ml.

As per above formula

      Volume(ml) of drug you give = D/H *Q

                                                    = 7/10 * 1

                                                    = 0.7 * 1

                                                    = 0.7 ml.

                      Round to the nearest tenth

                                                    = 1 ml
