The most important energy sources in Western Europe nowadays are nuclear power, fossil oils and natural gas. But also in the last few decades big efforts are made and lot has been invested into renewable energy, so more and more, the wind, the sun, the water (both from the rivers and seas), algae etc. are used, so that the environment is protected but also to lower the costs.
