Answer:Their troops were encouraged to go on a rampage which resulted in an series of looting, torture,and massacre of civilians and prisoners of war known as the Rpe of Nanking and the Nanking Massacre. After the japanese attacked the city of nanking, the chinese ordered a ceasefire and tried to make negotiations but they didn't make it in time. The japenese continued for several more days beating back sporadic resistance from the Chinese.
