Select the best answer for the question
15. How was the colonization of Australia and New Zealand distinct from the rest of New Imperialism?

Answers

Answer: d. they were settler coloniesExplanation:New Imperialism refers to a period between the late 19th and early 20th centuries when the Western powers invaded and colonised areas around the world especially in Africa as they tried to gain territory for various reasons such as the need for raw materials and the need for new markets. The British colonization of Australia and New Zealand were however distinct from this as this colonization was done to open the way for European settlements. Australia was first colonized to settle prisoners from Britain and New Zealand was subsequently colonized for European settlement.
