Protein is used for various purposes in the body. When the quantity of protein in the body is more than the amount the body needs, the excess protein is usually converted to glucose or lipid after the removal of the nitrogenous contents through either deamination or transamination reactions. The liver is responsible for conversion of excess proteins into glucose or lipids. After the conversion, the molecules will be exported out of the liver and store in the adipose tissues. In a laundromat, during the spin-dry cycle of a washer, the rotating tub goes from rest to its maximum angular speed of 4.7 rev/s in 8.3 s. You lift the lid of the washer and notice that the tub decelerates and comes to a stop in 17.5 s.
